Battle of the Network Stars Season 2 is yet to be announced by ABC

To this day, the original version of Battle of the Network Stars scores a strong 7.1 out of 10 stars on IMDb, with the new version so far only making it to 6.6 out of 10 stars. Hulu ratings are a bit more forgiving, where the show scores 3.9 out of 5 stars. The reboot originally premiered to over 4 Million viewers, but has since dropped to a season average of 2.9 Million per episode and the numbers keep falling. There is no denial that the new version of the series definitely cannot keep up with its former glory. If you take into account that the stars back then were the biggest in television and very much in their prime – meaning, a lot younger! – compared to the somewhat oldies-but-goodies celebs we get to see in the revival, the attraction to watch this show may only apply to the older generation, who still remembers the original. As of today, ABC has yet to officially announce the future of the show. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated, if the Battle of the Network Stars will come back with season 2 or not.

Battle of the Network Stars is one of those shows everyone can remember from back in the day! Originally, the show kicked of back in 1976 and was hosted by Howard Cosell in collaboration with huge stars such as Bruce Jenner, O. J. Simpson, Telly Savalas, Frank Gifford, Suzanne Somers and many more. The series ran for a whopping 19 seasons up until 1988 and now ABC has revived the the incredibly popular series once more. The reboot of Battle of the Network Stars season 1 debuted on June 29th, 2017 and is now hosted by Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore, with Cari Champion and Cassidy Hubbarth reporting from the sidelines. The show is produced by Trans World International and ABC Sports. Ronda Rousey and DeMarcus Ware are the coaches for the two teams.

MMA fighter Ronda Rousey leads the red team and Football player DeMarcus Ware coaches the blue team, as they lead their celebrity guests along a set of physically challenging sport courses. The teams usually follow some kind of theme, like six celebs from prime-time soap operas are pitted against a group of comedians as they battle it out on the running track, throwing basket balls into nets, kayaking, swimming, kicking balls into soccer goals, the military style obstacle course and more.
