About the show
BEING is a biography docuseries airing on Centric since 2014. The weekly program explores compelling life stories of soul and hip hop artists. It is executive produced by Paxton Baker, Depesha McGruder, Jon Marc Sandifer, Bart Philips and P. Frank Williams, and produced for Centric by Sunseeker Media and Prophit From It Entertainment. The seventh season premiered on June 10th, 2017 on Centric TV.
Hip hop icon Big Daddy Kane is the narrator for the series that features a journey into being each of the celebrities portrayed – one person at a time. The stories are, of course, very different, but always inspirational to follow, as the highlights from their careers and personal lives, the challenges, losses, hopes and triumphs are all presented. Through archival footage and photographs, some of which have never been publicly seen before, as well as interviews with family members, friends and colleagues, the fans gather an understanding of their favorite artists that is truly unprecedented.
