Series info and plot
I Love You... But I Lied is an original Lifetime Movie Network documentary drama series airing in the United States. The six-part first season of the reality series premiered in April 8, 2015, the second season followed with an extended 19-episode order in December 2015, and the third season kicked off on June 30, 2016. It is based on a hit Dutch series “Behind Closed Doors”, and is produced by LMN Original Media. Laura Fleury, Jennifer Wagman, Daniel Laikind, Patrick Moses and Michael Selditch are executive producers.
Skeletons in the closet galore, the series is a showcase of real-life accounts of family secrets, deception, affairs, scandals, pregnancies, confessions of double lives, obstacles from the past that are interfering with people's lives in the present and other questionable issues. Each episode contains several recreations of the true-to-life experiences in the follow-up documentary format.
Reviews and possibilities of renewal
The reviews have been mixed for the I Love You… But I Lied series. Some enjoy the shocking storylines, and follow the consequences of the deceptive behavior portrayed in the reenactments, and sometimes the attempts to make amends. Others find it to be overdramatic and possibly a fake. The current season premiered to an audience of 0.49 million viewers and a 0.2 demo rating. The show continues to feature shocking manipulations, deceit, secret, and – not too often – apologies. Confrontations and reconciliations are plentiful and there probably will more of I Love You… But I Lied on Lifetime Movie Network following the current third season, as it fills a high-demand niche.
