ITV has commissioned a second series of Karen Pirie, a TV show adapted from Val McDermid's cold case novels, following its successful debut. The three episodes, each 120 minutes long, will be produced by World Productions, known for their work on Line of Duty and The Pembrokeshire Murders. Emer Kenny, who adapted the first series, will return to write and executive produce alongside Scottish writer Gillian Roger Park. Karen Pirie will premiere on both ITV1 and ITVX.
