East New York and True Lies, the network's final two bubble programs that each had a single season, have been canceled. The series finale of the rebooted movie True Lies will run on May 17, while the final episode of the procedural East New York will air on May 14.

CBS representatives declined to respond.

The choices are being made as CBS prepares to reveal series orders for the forthcoming 2023–2024 broadcast season on Tuesday, and to reveal its fall lineup on Wednesday. Given that Netflix had previously held that spot, CBS and its parent company Paramount Global decided not to make their customary upfront presentation to Madison Avenue ad buyers this time around.

wtf this show way better than ghost, call Todd, neigborhood, Bob Abishola , and get rid of young stupid sheldon, do many dumb shows and you want to cancel East NewYork, that is crazy like Crack is Whack bull[censored] , I re watched episode 21 and many more 2-3 x such a great show about what goes on in East New York, that is where Whitney Houston first lived Bring it back for whitney for all of us.!, great music , acting and story line is really entertaining, real life situations in the rough hood. Smits just flow and the funny Regina rocks hard she is the Boss! very bad decision :(((:

it is great can’t say enough about this Bad Ass Show except what idiot decided it would not renew for season 2 ?, i would pay paramount, any network would grab this opportunity to see life in the hood!

I realize that it is very competitive today in tvland...but, that is no excuse for taking off the few good shows that are on, when you leave some shows on for YEARS past when they are good. You put this show on Sun. pm after the football game, and then 6o minutes the The Equalizer. Most Sundays everything is pushed back for at least an hour, because of the game, so for at least one third of the shows I watched they were cut off for the last 5-15 minutes because it was time for the news...so how do you expect to get a following when you can't watch the show in the right time slot, or it gets cut off before you see how it ends...please do your jobs...this is a great show, better then most at night, and there are too few good serious shows that aren't the same story every week...this show is more like NYPD Blue...and you know how good that show was... Thank you...I hope it gets another chance.

I am so disappointed to hear cancelation of this great show East New York I am hoping @cbs is listening to us who are huge fans of show.
It's an awesome show with top class actors who deliver to us viewers top dollar acting skills with so much chemistry that comes through on each episode. Bring show back we love it!!

Too quick in deciding cancellation. Need to give a program at least 2 seasons before making these decisions. Sorry to see the show cancelled.

I was raised in East New York and lived there for over 32 years. And yes it was truly a diverse community during my early teenage years (1960s), and very family-oriented. I am looking forward to seeing this new show.

Please find another place to put these shows that you're taking off the air it's just not fair you give it one season and you don't give it another season to at least try to see if people are going to watch it. You're not advertising them enough or switch it to a different day in a different time. There's a lot of nights where there's so many things on like Monday nights Tuesday nights and Wednesday nights and Thursday nights Friday night Saturday nights there's nothing hardly on put some things on those nights. You're taking so many good things off the television right now and keeping some really boring things that nobody cares to even watch it's sad that I could list so many things right now that you've only had one season that were great shows that you're going to take off find another place to put them pretty soon nobody's going to be watching TV at all. It's getting to where people can't afford to watch TV anymore
