Until now, we only knew small bits of information with a few photos and a first look. But, The Walking Dead: Dead City gave fans more goods at WonderCon with a teaser trailer that gives us its release date.
It doesn’t seem like this trailer gives us much more info than the last peek at their adventures. We know that Herschel gets kidnapped, and Negan is somehow key to getting him back. Either way, it is still wild to see walkers literally falling from the sky, which Negan hilariously notes. The Walking Dead: Dead City teaser trailer gives the June 18 release date. The show, which was originally set to air in the spring, will premiere on Sunday June 18 at 10pm ET. It will air on AMC and AMC+. Subsequent episodes will move to the 9pm ET timeslot.

The first images from Dead City, which Cohan and Morgan debuted during The Walking Dead's NYCC panel on Satur day, show that their rivalry is very much alive as Maggie presses her knife to Negan's throat. The network also announced the six-episode first season of The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres in April 2023 on AMC and AMC+.

The Walking Dead has chosen a new name for its spinoff starring Maggie and Negan. Previously titled Isle of the Dead, The Walking Dead spinoff featuring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been retitled The Walking Dead: Dead City, according to Entertainment Weekly. Isle of the Dead was only the working title, but EW has confirmed Dead City to be the new name of the spinoff project. The Walking Dead writer and co-executive producer Eli Jorné will serve as Dead City's showrunner, with Scott M. Gimple (Walking Dead's chief content officer) overseeing the series.
