Created by Taylor Sheridan, “1923” serves as a prequel to Yellowstone. The show explores the Dutton family in 1923 during the age of alcohol prohibition, drought and the beginning of the Great Depression in Montana. “1923” Season 2 will continue to explore the Dutton family and the power grab for control of the land and range. While confirmed to be in pre-production, no premiere date has been given yet; late 2024 or 2025 are the likely targets for “1923” Season 2.
In the Season 1 finale of 1923, Teonna's escapes with her father and Hank's son, Jacob's ongoing struggles are explored , and Spencer and Alexandra's continue their journey to London. The fates of these characters uncertain. Teonna's escape is fraught with danger as they head south to evade pursuers, Jacob faces challenges in court and with Whitfield, and Spencer and Alexandra's romantic troubles escalate on a ship to London. The finale ends with a poignant letter from Cara, hinting at impending challenges for Spencer and the Dutton ranch
Confirmed to return to “1923” Season 2 are Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton, Sebastian Roche as Father Renaud, Darren Mann as Jack Dutton, Michelle Randolph as Elizabeth Strafford, Aminah Nieves as Teonna Rainwater, and Robert Patrick as Sheriff William McDowell. Other characters will surely be written in. Two confirmed departures are Marley Shelton as Emma Dutton (who took her own life) and Jennifer Ehle as Sister Mary, who was murdered.
