The Chelsea Detective: Season Three of Acorn TV Crime Drama Kicks Off with Christmas Special.

The Chelsea Detective is set to kick off its third season next month. The British crime drama, created by Peter Fincham, will start its new season with a 2024 Christmas special and return with four regular 90-minute episodes in 2025.

Adrian Scarborough, Vanessa Emme, Sophie Stone, Lucy Phelps, Peter Bankolé, Anamaria Marinca, and Frances Barber star in the series, which follows a pair of detectives, DI Max Arnold (Scarborough) and DS Layla Walsh (Emme), as they investigate crimes in the area of West Chelsea in London.

Here is another wonderful series that showcases thoughtfulness, instinct, and the talent for solving puzzles without having to beat up people or send the swat team in with a great deal of gun power to subdue one miscreant. How about we have more shows that prove thoughtfulness and the methodical putting together of facts, plus a good boost of two brains are better than one are much nicer to watch than blood and guts. We have enough of that in real life, thank you. So here's hoping that this wonderful show will continue long past just one more season. I love a good puzzle.

“Season 2 of The Chelsea Detective is set to begin filming in autumn 2022. Given the filming date and the fact that season 1 premiered in March, we'd expect to see season 2 sometime in the spring of 2023.

This is exactly what I love. A who-dunnit detective show-with believable and likeable characters- set in a lovely part of London you don’t normally see show-cased as beautifully as this. The Police team were all working together like genuine colleagues-no unnecessary drama. Just a decent story well told.
It’s Brit-cop drama as I adore it.

I really hope there’s much more to come.

The Chelsea Detective is wonderfu. It's a slow burn. Great, subtle character development and and an undergirding of kindness and humanity. By episode 4 I was also appreciating the lovely, understated musical score for the show. I was SO disappointed to finish episode 4 and find that it's the last episode for Season 1. Please let there be a Season 2!
