Summer is the perfect time for adventures on the open road, and "Ugliest House in America: Summer Road Trip" is set to take viewers on a thrilling yet hilariously cringe-worthy journey. Fronted by Retta, a multi-talented host with a passion for home design and renowned for her roles in Parks and Recreation and Good Girls, the series has already amassed a massive following, attracting nearly 11 million viewers during its previous run.
Throughout the six-episode season, Retta embarks on a road trip to five breathtaking destinations, where she visits 15 homes nominated by their owners as the most horrendous examples of design gone wrong. Armed with her wit and humor, she presents her side-splitting reviews of these astonishingly bad designs, cringe-worthy layouts, and painfully outdated styles. From overwhelming assortments of fairytale-themed knick-knacks to miles of terrible tile and carpeted handrails, Retta encounters it all.
At the heart of the series lies the grand finale, where the HGTV network bestows the dubious honor of "ugliest house in America" upon one unfortunate home. The lucky owners of this poorly designed abode will have their fortunes turned around when they are awarded a jaw-dropping $150,000 renovation carried out by none other than Alison Victoria, one of HGTV's top stars. The transformation promises to be nothing short of showstopping, ensuring that these once unsightly houses will be reborn as stunning showcases of beauty and functionality.
I knew they would pick the angel house, based on the ones they picked the previous seasons. I believe they picked houses that didn't require a lot of structural changes because $150K really isn't that much for redoing a house.
Just discovered this show for season 3. Loved it. Retta is a hidden jewel. Hoping for season 4 (although I wouldn’t have picked the angel house in season 3).
Are you kidding me. They decided a lovely home with a few angels was deemed the "ugliest house in America". I would have picked any other home but that one. A little painting and angel removal would have updated that home in a hurry. Who and why did they decide on this home? The whole point does not make sense. Why even bother with this?
Feel like Allison was lobbed a grapefruit. Seems to not be much of a challenge. Would have been much more interesting to see if she could rise to the challenge of the Crystal Death Trap
