$50K Three Ways Season 2 is yet to be announced by HGTV

The tone deaf model that HGTV continues to operate from as it pertains to diversity is both stunning and disrespectful to people of color across the spectrum as well as those who are not minorities.

The beauty of all art forms is the diversity of approach in the use of color, textures and design expression is beneficial to all. The fact that a platform of this magnitude continues to push the images presented primarily by those who are caucasian is profoundly disappointing and irresponsible.

I’m changing my viewing habits and will not continue to support those shows that I have been a consistent viewer of. My action is only the action of 1 and in the grand scheme of thing does not ripple the water, but it’s mine to give or withhold. So I withhold it!

There are very few minority programs on HGTV. I’ve never seen any black or Hispanic or Asian male designers that have a show for more than one or two seasons. You have a show currently called battle at the beach. Where are the minority designers? You have two Caucasians judging the show. Where is the input from minority people? Yes some of the contestants are minorities but what about the judges and the designers?
