The TV show Gone Fishing will be returning for a new six-part series later this year, and a bumper eighth series with eight episodes in 2024. The upcoming series will feature the hosts visiting various locations such as Wales, Wiltshire, and the Scottish Borders. BBC's commissioning editor, Max Gogarty, expressed his excitement for the show's return, saying that it brings joy, catharsis, and escapism to millions of viewers each week, and they're thrilled that the hosts will be back with their dog Ted later this year. I'm not an angler, in the slightest, but love Ted the dog and his side kicks. The open and obviously real friendship, between the lads, is great tele and of course Bob's complete inability to stay on his feet, is slapstick gold
Absolutely PI***** that Messrs Mortimer and Whitehouse were in my back yard, my town and my [one of] local ! This series just has to continue guys - I'm addicted. Just love the informative, interesting nature, and humility, content [angling and non angling], finding it as I said - addictive !
Stay well and keep up the good work - it keeps me [& others I'm sure ] going.
Agree with all comments this is the best series on the BBC. My husbands is a fisherman but I’m not, yet we watch and enjoy this series together. Goes from hilarious to sad in a heartbeat, the music is perfect. Love the interaction between Paul and Bob neither take themselves to seriously just love it!! Please make another series.
This is possibly the best 4 series of pure joy & occasional sadness rolled into one. My wife (who isn't a angler) have watched the series mire than we gave Peaky Blinders! Just found out that a 5th series is on the way, in this [censored]e world something joyous to look forward to...long live these brilliant members of the human race?
Like several of the other viewers I have watched all series multiple times. Especially when I need cheering up! Their honest and hilarious interactions take you from fits of giggles to tears of sadness in a heartbeat. Absolutely recommend this program even if you're not into fishing!! Thanks and waiting impatiently for series 5 xxx
Please say a fifth season is going to be made. I've absolutely loved this programme so much so, that I've watched every episode twice and I'm tempted to watch it all again.
I was a child when these two guys were all over the TV and seeing their chemistry once again on TV is a joy. They bring a lighthearted approach to a serious side of life and I've enjoyed hearing their stories and views on life. Even with polar opposite viewpoints at times, they're still a great duo and it's a joy to watch.
Love and loved all Gone Fishing episodes. Bob and Paul brought humour great scenery and friendship alive. Having had heart surgery as a child I found the programmes uplifting and at times quite emotional. Loved the one near Ribble head viaduct as I live in the village near by. Loved all the accommodation and the countryside... Please make another series, loved by all xxx
This program has had myself and my wife in fits of laughter during every episode for four series. The two Christmas specials were two of the highlights of the past two Christmas tv schedules. Anyone who is not in tears for both reasons of laughter and sadness at the final scenes in the last Christmas edition has a heart of stone, pickled onions in the eyes and Paul’s mum singing. Please recommission this absolute genius of a program for a fifth series it has been the must watch tv for the last five years
What a waste of talent not making Series Five, have watched 1-4 multiple times. If Bob doesn't want to do another series then I would welcome Paul and Charlie, both very entertaining people. Having had a heart attack myself I relax so much to the music and humour. Keep it going please!!
Simply the best piece of TV in ages. We watch and watch episodes from all series and laugh and cry - it’s informative , funny and moving and all Hail Bob , Paul, guests and the production team and of course TED! Can’t wait for series 5 - keep them coming please
Stumbled upon an episode of this late in September and had to find out if there were more episodes available! Elated to have discovered 4 series!! Gutted that last night we watched the last one! Fingers crossed there will be a fifth series! What an absolute joy Bob and Paul are -laughed until I cried and now currently doing the same with Bob’s book ‘And Away!’ A fishing series not about fishing! We absolutely loved it!! Everything crossed for more and more!!
I have binged on umpteen episodes from Series 3 and 4 this past week as I recover from bladder cancer surgery and chemo. What a tonic to me. A natural foil for each other and two very very funny guys ?? Thank you both and I never thought I'd say this but thank you BBC Encore Bob and Paul ?
I've just watched all the episodes, started a week ago, and found this series one of the bests series I have ever watched. Please continue with further shows.
