Oprah’s brand-new reality documentary series Checked Inn premiered on the American network OWN on November 21th, 2017 for its very first season. The show follows super successful editor-in-chief and entrepreneur Monique Greenwood on her journey of owning her very own bed-and-breakfast in Brooklyn, New York. This powerhouse of a woman is all about leaving a legacy for her daughter and chose a career in the hospitality business over that high-flying job at Essence Magazine. What is most fascinating is the fact that she doesn’t stop at just one location, but actually pursues a whole line of high end establishments called Akwaaba Bed & Breakfast Inns. With currently four prestigious locations, Monique is seemingly unstoppable and celebrity guests such as Peabo Bryson, Lisa Price and Pastor John Gray have already graced her guest lists. The first episode kicked off to an audience of 713,000 viewers and with Oprah by her side, we will almost certainly get to see at least a season 2 of Checked Inn on OWN.
