So sorry to hear that they cancelled Frankie Drake mysteries. It was a delightful show and will be truly missed.

They left so many open situations in the last episode. It would be wonderful if they continued on with another season even if it was to bring a proper close and create a proper ending to the series. It seems like they owe the viewers that much at least.

I can’t believe this has been cancelled, it was a breath of fresh air after all the rubbish on tv at the moment, it was entertaining without the cringing blood and gore scenes or the cringing sex and glamour reality shows , something easy to watch .

My spouse and I have really enjoyed watching the Frankie Drake Mysteries. We are sad, disappointed, almost betrayed that such a quality show has been discontinued. This show went out on a very high note. The producers, writers, actors and wardrobe people are all to be congratulated. If there was a Sid Caesar award we would nominate your show. Bravo!!

I was so bummed to learn that there won't be a season 5 of Frankie Drake. I enjoyed each season. One of my favorite characters became Mary. Particularly where she danced. Plus, there needs to be a special to tie up loose ends.

No!!!! This is excellent writing and production.....great premise ...... superb acting so they cancel this show and probably put on trash.

I am so mad! I just found out Frankie Drake Mysteries has been cancelled! They can't leave everything hanging like that! At least do a 2 hour special and try to wrap up some storylines! I have invested a lot of time in these characters. So unfair!!

Why is it when a good show comes on they cancel it and put trash on. The story lines were great, loved the time period and costumes. It got me into watching pbs more. Not so sure now!!

Wonderful show with superb creative writing. The CBC shows how intelligent drama can be made. Chantel Riley's portrayal of Trudy was ground breaking. An episode with her staring in an Oscar Micheaux movie as a jazz singer would have fit right in. The entire cast and episodes were believable and very entertaining.

I loved this show!

For any film/ TV production to have all female leads, is exceptional! I admit I've always been a bit jealous of the girls, because nothing like this was around when I was doing my "aspiring actress" thing in Toronto in the 70's. The costumes were fabulous! The storylines were well scripted! All of the actresses were so much fun to watch, especially Wendy Crewson! Until Frankie Drake, I believe I had only seen Wendy in dramatic roles. She played such a wonderly wicked, completely corrupt, con artist extraordinaire! [bigsmile]

As someone else has mentioned, why is it that shows with women in the leading roles, get cancelled much more often than shows with men in leading roles? [angry]

This - IS!- the 21st Century! [angry]

Time for the CBC and all other broadcasters to wake up and step up!

Obviously, they did NOT know they were being cancelled, due to the way the last episode of season 4 just STOPPED in mid-story. What a let down to be left hanging with all those story lines unfinished. I hate when they do that! Just one or two more shows could have made the it right.

I am very sad to hear that Frankie & Trudy and the gang won’t be back for a 5th season. The show was very good with a superb female cast who all gave exceptional performance’s episode after episode!! The writing was excellent, truly great tv ? I echo the voice of many who left comments I do hope Netflix or Hulu sees this gem ? of a show and pick it up allowing it to continue to shine!!!!

My friends and I loved “Frank Drake”. Why is it that the best shows with strong women always get canceled? They canceled “Miss Fisher” way to soon also another great show!!!

How disappointing that Frankie Drake is not getting a 5th season. It's been a breath of fresh air. I have thoroughly enjoyed this somewhat campy show, especially the way those ladies take charge. The are courageous to the point of fearlessness and the eye-rolling "place" of women (according to most of the men in the show) show us how women were treated during the era. Not much changed for many years, but that's another tale.

A show about four intelligent, independent strong women. I for one will miss it very much. But I wish the four ladies who have entertained us for four seasons, every success in the future.
