What is the Latest Update on “Murdoch Mysteries” Season 18?
”Murdoch Mysteries” Season 18 talks have continued with no confirmation of its renewal or cancellation. The Canadian television drama series, Murdoch Mysteries, made its debut on CityTV on January 20, 2008, and is currently broadcasted on CBC. Adapted from Maureen Jennings' Detective Murdoch novels, the show features Yannick Bisson in the role of William Murdoch, a police detective navigating the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Toronto, Ontario
”Murdoch Mysteries” began airing in 2004 as a TV movie special, with a return in 2008 as a full-featured series. Since then, the show has gone on to broadcast more than 200 episodes. ”Murdoch Mysteries” Season 17 began airing on October 2 of 2023, and is scheduled to wrap up airing on January 15, 2024.
”Murdoch Mysteries” is a long-spanning Canadian media and was one of the first to accept the web as a medium, airing webisodes as early as late 2010/early 2011. The show has filmed all around Canada and looks to historical figures from 1895. We still have to see how the end of Season 17 plays out.

He has also starred in other movies like “A Perfect Plan,” “Year by the Sea,” and many made-for-TV movies. He also appeared in 60 episodes“The Adventures of Napkin Man,” according to his IMDB. His Instagram has 70,000 followers.
Helene Joy, Thomas Craig and Jonny Harris all feature alongside Bisson, with all four of the main cast appearing in 276 episodes. The three other actors have active Instagrams as well.
I very much enjoy watching Murdoch Mysteries. I used to watch it on the CBC network but since we switched to streaming only we have been watching it on CBC Gem. You can find all of the episodes starting from the very beginning (E1) to the current season 17. Great show!
It’s past the 2nd of October does anyone know when Murdoch Mysteries will air on Prime Video (Amazon)? My husband and I are hooked on this show we love it so much and we look forward to each season and each episode!!!
I absolutely love everything about Murdoch Mysterious, I love learning about things from the 1900s very interesting, the costumes r beautiful the actors r great I love their chemistry with each other, pls have season 17 pls
Why is Miss Hart never held accountable for ANY of her crimes. I have really lost it for this show. SPOILER ALERT: I didn't think it would bother me but time after time watching a person that wished for harm to Julia when she was pregnant, especially when if it wasn't for Julia she would have NEVER gotten her job as coroner. She would still be peddling vitamin concoctions at a booth. Julia did nothing but help her. She gave poison to a man at the cafe and when he left afterwards I think he was found dead in an alley, she used her husband for his money and drugged him, then when her former criminal boss came to try to get her to work for him again she killed him and now her criminal father killed her husband and she just keeps working as the coroner. UNBELIEVABLE!! Just beyond my comprehension why she keeps getting away with so much. I quit this show. This is horrible that show is letting her get away with murder and more. . Fed up!
I have a feeling that they are laying the groundwork for more unfolding drama for Miss Heart. Meanwhile we're learning more about how she was a product of her environment in her formative years. I have a real interest in watching this evolution.
My wife and I are fans of the show, have seen the earlier movies with Peter Outerbridge, and read the books. We love the series, even when watching the reruns on GEM and AMI TV.
I would have liked this video if it were not for the fact that the narrator has no idea how to pronounce various people's names. Bisson is French and is not pronounced "bison," as in a large ungulate grazing on the prairies. Helene should be likewise pronounced in the French fashion, and she is from Perth, which is NOT the capital of Australia. The script should have been checked for clangers like this one. Throw into the mix Thomas Craig's wife's name, which is Irish and is pronounced Shuh-vonne, rather than the mangled mess that the narrator uttered.
If we could afford to pay the cast’s salary ourselves in order to guarantee future season of the best mystery show in North America, we would happily pay. But alas, we are are of rather merger means and one of the things we can afford and enjoy as a family, is watching Murdoch Mysteries. Have a heart and provide season 17 for us happily married couch potatoes. 😁
Just finished watching The Long Goodbye Part 1&2… which was the finale of Season 16. P L E A S E tell me there will be a Season 17!! All those cliff hangers ABSOLUTELY merit another season of this amazing show!!! What will our Mon evenings be like without the MM gang
Spoiler 2023 season finale: In the final scene, why did they misspell the name Crabtree as Carbtree on the new inspector's door? Just curious. Can't wait for a renewal!
George helps edit Murdoch and Ogden's book in Season 12 but he gets very little credit and his name is even mispelled as "Carbtree". Perhaps a nod to that?
Been watching from the beginning and am totally addicted to it. Each week I can hardly wait for the next episode. Hard to get in the US, but found it on YouTube with varying quality. Wish it would come back to Hulu. Please renew for Season 17. I’d be very sad to see it go. Love all the characters and plot lines along with some of the historical elements that you present. Love love love it 💕
Murdoch Mysteries is the best continuing show on CBC. I have enjoyed every episode of every season since 2008! The characters are so rich, the sets and costumes are wonderful , but most of all, the show is a historical commentary about Canada,s social norms at the turn if the twentieth century. I love every character! Please continue the series .
With so much reality based stories and long running dramas having Murdoch to watch is a comfortable evening for many. Wind at our back...Frankie Drake Mysteries.. Anne of green gables , Murdoch , they all give numerous generations the opportunity to learn some history in Canada. Keep this awesome show. If survivor goes 44 seasons MURDOCH MYSTERIES can tooo.
Have been watching this show since the beginning, was excited to see it before it came on because of Yannick, who I had seen in other shows before. The time period was interesting so that captured my attention, have been a fan every week ever since. Love the costumes on the ladies especially the hats. Glad the non- Caucasian characters are shown as educated, well spoken, as there have been trailblazers in this country. Well done CBC, keep the talent coming we have plenty of it.
Love-love-love Murdoch's Mysteries. Love the content especially when now legendary inventors' characters appear. Love when Murdoch creates some tech thing & gives it an original name, of which we now well the offspring. Love Murdoch's character; truly no other character that I've seen in any series during my 7 decades on Earth come near to his. Adore the way the characters play off each other. Poor Brackenreid - Craig so PERFECTLY plays every nuance, every point of view of the background of his character, performed to perfection. Brackenreid has deep common sense interspersed with ridiculous off-the-cuff comments. Season 7, episode 2 he bursts out with "Type B blood is bad" missing the point altogether that type B is merely incompatible with the other blood types. How can he be so brash yet so endearing? That's great acting. I hope this series goes on for another decade. So grateful that I am able to enjoy it in the States.
For those in the US, this shiw goes on at 2am, I believe on ABC. MY Dvr is set to record new episodes and sometimes the older ones record. I forgot what day I woke up and watched it at 2 am when unable to sleep
Season 16 feels very much like a wrap-up to the series, although we may get one or two more years out of it. There seems to be a "reunion" theme, with the re-appearance of many old favourites. Additionally, the show is now set in 1910 - making the Great War only a few seasons off. This would require a big change in tone, and they may choose to call it a day instead. Add to this the new teen spin-off with its sci-fi premise, and it looks like the end is near.
