General information and cast
Created by John Morton, the British comedy television show W1A originally debuted back in March 2014 for its very first series on the network BBC Two. Since then, the show has been renewed for overall three seasons, with the latest installment premiering on September 18th, 2017 with brand new episodes. The show hails from the production company BBC and Media City UK and is executive produced by Jon Plowman.
W1A is actually somewhat the sequel (just not quite) of BBC’s Award winning show Twenty Twelve, which was a comedy about the 2012 Olympics in Britain, and earned its name due to the postcode, where the British Broadcasting Company – BBC – is located, which is W1A 1AA in London. David Tennant narrates the show and the cast features Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Hynes, Monica Dolan, Sarah Parish, Hugh Skinner and Nina Sosanya. Bonneville plays Ian Fletcher, the former head of the Olympic Deliverance Commission, who has now taken a new position as the head of values at the BBC. His new job requires all sorts of weird dealings, such as redefining the company’s purpose, royal visits and the programming.
