The very first episode chronicles the biggest aviation mystery of the 21st century, the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 in 2014, which to this day it has not yet been determined what happened and where it ended up. How can something so closely monitored simply vanish into thin air?! These days, with all these radars, satellite imaging and on-board tracking systems things like this seem impossible and yet, they still happen. And the Science Channel picked the best person to host this new docu-series, as Emmy Award winning actor Terry O’Quinn certainly knows a thing or two about disappearing people and lost planes. The previously released Mysteries of the Abandoned on the same network scores a whopping 8.3 out of 10 stars on IMDb and it is highly likely that this new endeavor will follow suit. As of today, the Science Channel has not yet released any official statement regarding the future of the series. General information and cast
Hosted by the incredible Terry O’Quinn, whom we might all remember from the gripping mystery series Lost, the new documentary show Mysteries of the Missing premiered on the American Science Channel on August 26th, 2017 with brand new episodes for its very first season. The show is part of the Mysteries of franchise, which currently also airs Mysteries of the Abandoned on the same network. The docu-series hails from the production company Wall to Wall and is executive produced by Jeremy Dear, Neil Laird and Fred Hepburn.
Mystery of the Missing literally chronicles the disappearances of people as well as entire colonies, including the unexplained whereabouts of the three Alcatraz escapees from 1962, the lost Roanoke colony in North Carolina, the truth behind the 1908 explosion in an extremely remote part of Siberia that was apparently as strong as a thousand atomic bombs, the mysterious Bermuda triangle and the disappearance of an entire airplane, amongst others. The show uses the latest technology and surveillance methods as well as the help of professional investigators, scientists and experts to try and find some answers to the questions surrounding these unexplainable cases.
