The first season of the reality TV game show Kicking and Screaming premiered on the FOX Network with eight episodes on March 9th, 2017. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television, Lionsgate and Pulse Creative and executive produced by Anthony Dominici and Matt Kunitz, who also created the show together with Mark J. Harris and David Shumsky. The host is Hannah Simone.
Some of us love the outdoors and some cannot stand the thought of creepy crawlies outside – so imagine two people from both ends of the spectrum, an expert survivalist and a nature-phobic partner, as they are forced to face the tropical jungle on Fiji and some extreme challenges along the way, including some dangerous animals, hunger, extreme weather and wild terrain. What makes this experiment so entertaining is the fact that the no-nonsense survivalist now has the extremely challenging burden of a no-nature person to deal with – literally someone Kicking And Screaming. The prize is a whopping $500,000, so it’s worth the struggle.
The overall rating of 6.6 out of 10 stars on IMDb doesn’t really give much away in terms of the success of the series. And those viewing figures starting at 2.24 Million and dropping to 1.59 Million could mean anything from a great start to the series to horrible viewing figures and being axed in the process, because each network and channel usually sets their own very varied standards when it comes to numbers in general. Unfortunately for Kicking And Screaming, the series was not taken into the upcoming 2017-2018 TV schedule for FOX, which was announced on May 15th, 2017. As of today there seem to be no plans for Kicking And Screaming to return to our screens with a season 2 just yet, but that could still change, so stay tuned.
