Series' background and info
A cooking face-off competition fashioned after the Australian original program, the eight-episode freshman season of My Kitchen Rules was launched on Fox in the United States on January 12, 2017. The show is executive produced by Conrad Green and Kenny Rosen at 7 Beyond. This is the second US attempt at adapting the format, the first one was undertaken by Kinetic Content in 2012, yet the show never hit the small screens.
Teams of two compete in hosting dinner parties at their own homes in front of their fellow participants and two judges – Curtis Stone and Cat Cora. The lowest-scoring team is eliminated at the end of each round. The US series involves celebrity participants, and this season the roster includes Lance Bass, comedian Andrew Dice Clay, RHOBH star Brandi Glanville, singer Brandy Norwood, Ray J, country music legend Naomi Judd and others.
