The first season of the wildlife documentary show Australia’s Deadliest Monsters premiered on Nat Geo Wild with three episodes on April 28th, 2017. The series is a reboot of the predecessor Australia’s Deadliest, which started back in 2013 and was a spinoff of the original series World’s Deadliest, a show that goes all the way back to 2010. Australia’s Deadliest Monsters is produced by Channel 7 Australia and Nat Geo Wild.
The title of this new series is pretty self-explanatory and basically covers the “Nightmares of the North”, “Outback Terrors” and “Stone Cold Killers” of the Australian Outback in three “chilling” episodes. Fact is, that around 60% of all poisonous animals of the entire planet live on this red continent, although not all of these monsters featured are dangerous because of their poison. Supremely adapted to life in these sometimes very hostile environments, we get to see monsoonal floodplains as well as parched desert dunes and also the highlands, which are the habitats of some of the scariest animals and creatures of Australia.
Creepy crawlies and monstrous animals – they are all featured in this beautifully made and very informative wildlife documentary series. (Even though, it might actually change the minds of some wanting to travel there.) The good thing is, that we can watch these critters from the hopefully safe couch eating popcorn. As for a possible second installment, Nat Geo has yet to make an official announcement regarding the future of the show. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated with any news if and when Australia’s Deadliest Monsters returns with series 2.
