The first season of the documentary show Outlaw Tech premiered on the Science Channel with six episodes on April 26th, 2017. The series is narrated by David Tyler, produced by 8759669 Canada, Canal D and Science Channel and executive produced by John Kuyk, who also developed the series.
When we think of the Wild West, we think about Billy the Kid and Buffalo Bill, but in our 21st century a different kind of Wild West is emerging and unfortunately the outlaws coming with it have a much greater reach than those gun slingers back in the day. The documentary series Outlaw Tech provides us with an incredible insight into the newly emerged world of rogue science, which works through a combination of physics, biology, chemistry and – of course – technology. The underworld seems to always be one step ahead, hacking banks, museums, prisons, casinos and more. Outlaw Tech shows us cases such as the incredible escape by El Chapo Guzman from his prison, how a submarine is used to transport 16,000 pounds (which is around 8 tons) of cocaine to another country undetected and a 100 Million Dollar diamond heist, which defied the most advanced surveillance and locks.
