Comedy overview
The first season of the comedy series called Making History premiered on the Fox Channel with nine episodes on March 5th, 2017. Originally planned for 13 episodes and created by Julius Sharpe, the series is produced by Julius Sharpe International Petroleum and Writing, Lord Miller and 20th Century Fox Television and executive produced by Seth Cohen, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The main characters are played by Adam Pally as Daniel Chambers, Leighton Meester as Deborah Revere and Yassir Lester as Chris Parrish. On May 11th, 2017 the show was cancelled by Fox.
In a nutshell, the comedy show Making History tells the story of misunderstood college facilities manager Daniel Chambers, who accidentally discovers time travel and decides to use modern time movie quotes and stand-up comedy back in the 18th century and become the cool guy. Another thing he likes to do is travel back to hang out with his ex-girlfriend. Obviously, him travelling back and forth has a huge impact on the present as he alters the past with his new-ish appearance. It ends up being so bad, that Paul Revere postpones his plans for his famous ride through which the entire American Revolution doesn’t happen the way it is supposed to. In the end, Dan has to turn to history professor Chris Parish to help him fix this mess.
No season 2
It wasn’t meant to be. Making History is not going to make history in terms of longest running television series, because the show as cancelled by the network Fox after its first and only season. The reason for this decision is mainly due to low ratings, as the show had started off with 2.17 Million viewers for its premiere episode, which then fell to below around 1.4 viewers per episode. The approval ratings weren’t exactly off the charts either, with only 6.3 out of 10 stars on IMDb. No Season 2 for Making History.
