True North Calling Season 2 is yet to be announced by CBC

On February 17th, 2017 a brand new docu series called True North Calling hit our screens on the CBC Channel with six episodes. Produced by Proper Television Inc. and executive produced by Allison Grace and Guy O'Sullivan, we get to follow a group of Canadians as they try to make a living up there in the north of Canada, in the Canadian Arctic territories Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Imagine snow. Lots of it. And cold. Even more of it. And not much else. These people live in the harshest conditions out there in some wild country, most of us viewers cannot even imagine, let alone picture what a live up there could possibly be like. These men and women deal with unforgiving terrain, unpredictable weather and completely unexpected challenges just to survive. Traditions and specific knowledge passed down through generations, which has kept families alive for millennia, together with some help of modern world items will guide us along an incredible way of life as it is only possible in certain countries – including seagull eggs and caribou over a campfire out in the open. Talking about true free range!

Any kind of documentary series, which features a lifestyle a lot of us may have dreamed about, but would never be able to put into fruition, or with a lot of us never even imagine living like that at all, is interesting to watch. As of today CBC has not yet made any announcement regarding the future of the show, but I for one love these shows and I can’t wait for Season 2 of True North Calling.
