In October 2015, a brand new art competition series hit our TV screens with a wild and colorful show called Crash Gallery. On February 5th, 2017 the second season of this reality show premiered on the CBC Network. The series is produced by Lark Productions, hosted by Sean O’Neill and the executive producers are Louise Clark, Erin Haskett and Brent Haynes. Each season consists of 5 episodes.

In a nutshell, Crash Gallery is a messy, chaotic and loud art competition, where 15 Canadian artists from all walks of life and professions, such as painters, illustrators, nail artists and puppet makers, get a chance to compete against each other within a certain time frame and in front of a cheering crowd. The goal of the reality TV series is to lure the artists with different specialties out of their comfort zone and basically make them create something artistic under a lot of pressure. Picture paint grenades and painting while suspended from the ceiling or under water with a snorkel. At the end of each episode, the enthusiastic audience gets to vote for their favorite artist and ultimately the Crash Gallery Champion. There is no big prize money to win – the winner gets the bragging rights.
