About the show
On January 22nd, 2017 the channel CBS brought out one of the most controversial reality competition TV shows we have seen on TV. Hunted was produced by Lock and Key Productions and Endemol Shine North America, the executive producers are Brian Catalina (Shark Tank) and Laura Fuest (America's Next Top Model). Michael Rosenbaum narrated this series.
The show is essentially a competition where the winner will cash in on $250,000, if they can manage to escape a super skilled team of real investigators for 28 days. The playing field is all of the United States. Now, that doesn't sound too hard, does it?! Well, if you are a normal person, like the contestants are, such as the married couples English and Stephen King or Troy and Chele Pfost or best friends Lee Wilson and Hilmar Skagfield amongst others, and you are being investigated and followed by a real team of FBI and CIA agents, such as Robert W. Clark, Theresa Payton, Ben Owen, Steve Masterson, Connie Min and a LOT more professionals of the same caliber, then that might be a different ball game all together.
Popularity, current season and renewal
Hunted is based on nine teams of two people each and in just seven episodes from 22nd January until the 1st March 2017 only two of them actually made it over the course of 28 days and won their price money. Seeing that the show used real investigation techniques and actually shows the viewer a real inside into how these cases are being handled and processed, it is no surprise that plenty of people have something to say about it. Some scream that it is all fake while others love the thrill of the hunt – whether it be team fugitives or team hunters. Even though the show hasn't really brought in fantastic numbers in terms of regular viewers, although it seemingly started strong with around 11.8 Million viewers for the first episode, unfortunately it dropped to an average of only 5.2 Million immediately thereafter. And to this date CBS has yet to announce, if there will be a season 2 for Hunted.
