Season 2 of Brothers Take New Orleans Won’t Be on HGTV’s Schedule

On November 23, 2016 HGTV has launched a new renovation competition series featuring the legendary Canadian-born Drew and Jonathan Scott, 38-year-old identical twins and kings of the renovation reality genre. The duo has appeared in numerous series, the most popular of which are Property Brothers and Brother vs. Brother. This is their fifth currently broadcast series, and soon enough they may need their own network to air all of the shows produced by their own production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment.

A short four-episode season of Brothers Take New Orleans features Drew and Jonathan taking on the renovation of identical neighboring duplexes in a competition mode. They are relatable and easy going, which has already made them definite fan favorites, and now their popularity is likely to propel anything that comes out with their names on it.

Popularity and renewal potential

The New Orleans-set series is produced it conjunction with the St. Bernard Project, an NPO that seeks to help home owners decrease the time period between the disaster and the recovery from it. The newly renovated homes will be offered as disaster relief to two families who have lost their homes to the infamous hurricane Katrina. The celebrity guest roster this season includes Scott Bakula (NCIS New Orleans) and Hoda Kotb (NBC's Today show), who will stop by to judge the weekly challenges. The series is bringing in top-notch numbers, with over 1.8 million viewers and a 0.44 rating for the premiere, and 1.6 million and a 0.35 in the demo in the second week. HGTV has not yet clarified whether the series was planned as a miniseries, or may see another season, so please stay tuned.
