About the series
A new American comedy series, Nightcap debuted on Pop on November 16, 2016 with ten episodes for the first season. Season 2 was commissioned by the network prior to the series debut and premiered on June 7th, 2017 with another 10 brand new episodes. It is produced in collaboration between Lionsgate Television, Dakota Pictures, Trout the Dog Productions, Free 90 Media and Zero Point Zero Production.
Nightcap is, in fact, the name of the fictional radio show produced by the series' main character Staci (Ali Wentworth). It is hosted by a never-seen homophobic and racist narrator Jimmy, who makes up the most maddening, hilarious and biggest part of Staci's life. There's a certain familiarity in Nightcap's premise that stems from its resemblance to that of 30 Rock, only darker and meaner. The show features an impressive celebrity lineup, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow, Denis Leary, Michael J. Fox, Whoopi Goldberg, Wendy Willaims and Jason Biggs.
