New sketch comedy series cast and premise
On August 5, 2016 Adult Swim presented its new sketch comedy TV series Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace. The show is created by the Massachusetts-based three-member sketch comedy group Million Dollar Extreme. Besides starring in the show Sam Hyde, Charles Carroll and Nick Rochefort also write and executive produce it alongside Andrew Ruse, who is the director. The first season contains six 11-minute episodes.
World Peace is a satirical sketch show that is set in a dystopian world with very clear parallels to the current political climate and the society in general. Among the topics explored are feminism, bully culture in the educational institutions, rape, and sometimes viewers have a difficult time distinguishing whether the comics actually are in their tongue-in-cheek routines. Thought-provoking and perhaps intentionally rough around the edges, World Peace certainly deserves attention.
Audience support and renewal projections
The show premiered to a considerable audience of 1.033 million viewers, sliding to an average of approximately 0.85 million for the three subsequent episodes. It has a top-notch IMDb rating of 9.4/10 and is enjoying rave reviews. World Peace has been called offensive, brilliant, unique, twisted, unfiltered, relatable, controversial – an all of these characteristics are true. Hopefully, this gem will be renewed for another season at Adult Swim, and as soon as a decision is made, we'll bring you the latest news.

UPDATED December 9, 2016: In an unexpected, yet understandable politically motivated move Adult Swim has canceled its popular sketch comedy series Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace. The series managed to go through its freshman season with reasonable ratings and positive reviews, yet the alt-right affiliations of its creators have forced some of its employers and stars to make a case against the program, while comedian Brett Gelman went as far as boycotting the network. This is a case when the viewership ratings do not rule over the fate of the show, as Adult Swim chose not to scare off a considerable segment of its audience.
