Shame it was cancelled. Series 11 was easily the best ever. It had proper drama and emotion. It reached the status of sport. Angela Scanlon was very good on it too. Better than any of the previous presenters.

I thought they could have built on the direction the last episode went - where the the personal rivalries became clearer, and the seriousness with which competitors took it became clearer. The guy from Eruption was a good representive for Robot Wars - a good, honest, screen presence, and he was actually emotional when he won! At least it ended on a high.

Hello from Ghent, Belgium.
Just watched 'the grand final' again of series 10 (episode 6), Carbide vs Eruption. And still in tears (!) of joy and amazement. I was already astouned and a big fan in 2004. I got very excited when it was back on. What a great show! Thank you for all of that.
I got insipred.
Sportive greets

I have watched all of series 8 of Robot Wars, and would be very surprised if BBC2, commission another series.
Why? I was an acid watcher of Robot Wars when it was first made and found it exciting and unpredictable, the robots where amazing in simplicity sometimes and innovation at others. The presenters would show enthusiasm, engage with the audience and competitors, and make jokes about the losers machines all of which was in good taste.
Series 8,on the other hand was as if I was in school, I found the presenters condescending, and the explaining of how the fights had been won or lost, unnecessary, the ladder table for the winner is not fair, as a loser could gain points in following heats to then beat a robot who has whom all its heats.
In all, this Series was boring, and could have fooled a half hour slot instead of the prime 8pm to 9pm Sunday night position, and repeated during the week.

This series was totally not boring. Did you expect Dara O'Briain to have the same presenting style as Craig Charles for this?

If you WANT an example of a condescending presenter, watch the first series of Robot Wars which was presented by Jeremy Clarkson. Nothing against Jezza of course.
