The second series of the crime drama series Follow The Money (or as they say in Danish “Bedrag”) premiered on BBC Four on March 4th, 2017 with 10 new episodes. Created by Jeppe Gjervig Gram, the show is produced by Danmarks Radio (DR) and executive produced by Piv Bernth. Follow The Money was originally broadcast in Denmark in 2016, from where it was picked up by several different countries such as Belgium, Finland, Netherlands and the UK.
The Award winning thriller is about a financial crime and we get to follow the police as they work on their newest case involving a company called Energreen. A woman inside the company stumbles across a secret that could change everything and a mechanic, who is becoming a part of a criminal operation, has no idea yet, what he has gotten himself into. The mystery grows with every episode. Natalie Madueño, Thomas Bo Larsen, Esben Smed Jensen, Thomas Hwan and Line Kruse form the main cast.
Given the fact, that this crime series was picked up in numerous different countries and then synchronized into various other languages already says a lot about its popularity and the interest this crime thriller created straight from the beginning. Financial crime is one of those things that are still somewhat glorified and surprisingly enough, not many people see it as a true crime. But in times of credit card and identity fraud, where these kinds of crime no longer just happen to some businesses somewhere, this notion seems to change significantly. Follow The Money scored an overall rating of a strong 7.5 out of 10 stars on IMDb and with 2 series already under its belt, the third season might not be far off. So far, the BBC has not yet officially announced the future of the show. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated if and when Follow The Money will come back with a possible Series 3.
