According to a British tabloid interview, “Agatha Raisin” has not yet had any official word on the possibility of an “Agatha Raisin” season 5. Originally airing in 2014, the English comedy/murder mystery features Ashley Jensen as an amateur sleuth in a small town in the United Kingdom countryside. The television show is based on the same titular murder-mystery books by M.C. Beaton. Raisin features as a public relations specialist, although herself is quite repugnant. M.C. Beaton has written 35 total books under the “Agatha Raisin” saga.
AMC, the distributor of a potential “Agatha Raisin” Season 5 and previously, has not confirmed that a Season 5 is in production or even being written yet but has not denied it either. This could be caused by star Ashley Jensen’s appearances in another detective drama, “Shetland.”
M.C. Beaton unfortunately passed away in December of 2019, which could also point to another reason for the lack of announcement for “Agatha Raisin” Season 5.
An Acorn TV Original - Agatha Raisin Trailer - YouTube
”Agatha Raisin” Season 5, if it is confirmed, will premiere on Acorn TV. The previous four seasons are available for streaming on-demand from Acorn TV, which is a streaming service that offers content from the United Kingdom and Australia, as well as some dubbed international offerings.
“Agatha Raisin” is available for streaming with an additional premium subscription from Amazon Prime Video, and individual episodes can be purchased on YouTube for around $1.99 each.
Ashley Jensen, a Scottish actress, has appeared in a wide span of media for both United States and English viewers alike. She has appeared in media like “Ugly Betty,” “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,” “Sherlock Gnomes” and many more. According to her IMDB, she has just under 70 screen credits as an actress. Her most recent main cast role came in Detective Investigator Ruth Calder from the British detective show “Shetland,” which has aired over 8 seasons since 2013. Jensen does not have any active social media pages.
Starring alongside Ashley Jensen are Matt McCooey, Lucy Liemann, Matthew Horne and Jamie Glover. These all round out the supporting cast for “Agatha Raisin,” including her neighbors and neighbors and detectives (although none of them are amateur status, like Agatha herself). According to the IMDBs for these four actors, none of them are slated for upcoming projects. Particularly of note is that English production would not have been impacted by the Hollywood writer strikes.

The early ones were much better. Now they tend to the ridiculous.
The out fits are a little wild but that's my only problem.
Over all I've watched Series I and II so far and regardless I'll see the rest on my DVD player.
Currently watching Series III. I did get Series IV on DVD and will see the new
episodes in a few days.
I do hope they dealt with the complaints about series 4 -Agatha constantly falling over, screaming and dressing like a pantomime dame.
I will watch in hope👍🏻
The new books co-written by RW Green are very good- if you’re a book fan.
I’ve ordered every RWGreen one do far.
Can anybody tell me why.
Many thankd
And Brokenwood, too!
