All previous episodes of Inside No. 9 are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer and series eight will premiere on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer in Spring 2023.

Fresh from the last episode of the current seventh series, the BBC have confirmed two more outings are on their way.

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith said: “In the greatest plot twist ever, the BBC have commissioned another two series from us, taking “Inside No.9” to series 9. Since 2014, it has been the greatest gift to conjure these stories into being and we are thrilled there’s still an appetite for more. (Source:

Series eight and nine are still to be broadcast, and both series will stay true to show’s anthology format with each series containing six brand new half hour films, each set in a different location. The style and tone changing each week, combining a different mix of horror, thriller, drama and comedy - always aiming to surprise, delight, unnerve and amuse.

The creators have announced, via The Sun, that the hit comedy will end - fittingly - after Series 9. Steve Pemberton told The Sun: "We feel it is a good time to pause Inside No9 after we finish filming series nine next year... We’re not saying it’s over for good. After all, The League Of Gentlemen came back, but we won’t be looking to make any more episodes for the time being." (Source:

To quote the legendary Chuckle Brothers; 'oh dear. Oh dear oh dear' what's happened to you Reece and Steve?! I've been the biggest fan of the once dark and twistedly funny pair, but they've committed the unthinkable and sold out. Their once incomparable, refreshingly unapologetic humour I held tight to my heart has been replaced by woke repetitions of the same tired and lazy format, usually a same sex couple ending in some carefully constructed demise featuring predictable and cringe inducing gags along the boring way. It's a tragedy that this has happened; the once hermetic Shearsmith has been cropping up on a lot of tat in the last few years: naff game shows like catchphrase with that terrible Stephen Maltoaf or whatever his face is for example, perhaps symptomatic of a once great man on the change? Looks suspiciously like it to me. Sorry boys, you've believed your own hype and lost your way. As for more inside no 9? Nah, turn it off mum, I don't want to watch it.
