While it's been speculated the final season of the series would not air until 2019, HBO made the news official on Thursday. "'Game of Thrones' will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season in 2019," the network announced via Twitter. "David Benioff & D.B. (Source: cnn.com)
Why do I have an email alert saying that today, in 2019 they have now "decided" that there won't be a season 9, and it's "cancelled"? That's ludicrous - it hasn't been "cancelled", and it wasn't decided today. It has reached its TRIUMPHANT AND PLANNED ENDING.
How can something be so popular, yet they take so long to manufacture a new series... I mean, if a series is a flunk then I understand, year long delays or even cutting the program completely but if its a serious hit, in which "Game of thrones" is, then why not create them constantly??? and don't say it takes time to make as I know for sure that one full series of 10 x 50min movies, can be made every 3months at worst if needed.... its just stupid business. people will not be as keen if they have to wait a year to continue their weekly routine.
I feel like you don’t really get how things work. This is a multi-billion dollar show/franchise and is not going to die down because people have to wait a year. If anything I’m more and more excited with each passing month. But the 3 months thing is a bit inaccurate. Perhaps you’re unaware they’re building a real life castle from scratch in Ireland, but things take time.
