Program format and information
A British adventure game show The Almost Impossible Gameshow has premiered in 2015 and is presently in its second series, which aired on ITV2 on April 7, 2016. The show is written by and stars the Irish comedy duo The Rubber Bandits – Dave Chambers ad Bob McGlynn. It is an adaptation of a similar German game program Crash Games and is produced by Initial, a subsidiary of Endemol, and executive produced by Catherine Lynch. The pilot episode was offered to Comedy Central in 2013, and subsequently to Endemol, which acquired it to be produced as Crash Games in Germany.
Each episode of The Almost Impossible Gameshow pits ten individuals against each other in five bizarre challenges, with twenty-five attempts at every one of them. The games are as strange as their names – Word Lick, Bum Magnet, Yum Yum Run, Tiny Bike, Wet Slippy Discs, Belly Flop, and many others. The winner goes home with a trophy instead of a cash prize as in the prototype series. The whole program is Total Wipeout on a shoestring, a hilarious anti-game show full of tricky slapstick physical challenges.
