A hit American police procedural series airing on CBS, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders was launched on March 16, 2016. The premiere was originally planned for March 2, 2016, but was pushed back by two weeks. The backdoor pilot debuted on April 8, 2015 to introduce the characters. The Criminal Minds spin-off series was developed by Erica Messer, executive produced by Messer alongside Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper and Adam Glass, and produced by ABC Studios, CBS Television Studios and The Mark Gordon Company. Season 2 of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders came out in the US on March 8, 2017.
As it is clearly implied by the show’s title, the series is a spinoff from the popular Criminal Minds show, and features a team of elite FBI operatives who are involved in US citizen-related cases on foreign soil. Gary Sinise and Alana de la Garza play the parts of Jack Garrett and Clara Seger, supervisory special agents and lead characters of the series.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Season 2 was ordered despite the fact that it delivered very mediocre reviews (6/10 IMDb score, 28% approval rating on Metacritic, and a completely shameful rating of 15% on Rotten Tomatoes), and only thanks to its rather impressive viewership numbers: the spin-off debuted to nearly 9 million viewers. Despite such mixed signs, the network decided to give the show a second chance, and it looks like this might become the final run – the sophomore season is averaging so far just 5 million viewers, which is a massive 28% drop from its debut numbers. All 13 episodes are expected to be broadcast on TV despite such a disastrous downfall and the finale to be aired on May 17. We don’t think the series will get picked up for another run, but check back with on the fate of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Season 3.
