About the series
A new twist on the weight loss reality shows, Fat Chance mixes it up with a bit of romance. The brand-new series that premiered on TLC on February 17, 2016 follows eight individuals who are striving to lose significant amounts of weight. The additional motivational factor in their projected transformation is the romantic feelings which they harbor for someone in their lives, and which can not be realized due to their self-consciousness regarding the weight issue. The series format will dedicate an episode to each of the eight people whose feats are being chronicled. They will be assisted by a professional trainer on their path to emotional and physical well-being and self-confidence. Each person's journey will last three months, or at least that will be the part documented by production crews.
