”Midsomer Murders” Series 24 Air Date Set for Late 2023 by Acorn TV

"Midsomer Murders" Series 24 Premiered December 2023, No Word on Series 25

Midsomer Murders” Series 24 and 23 have been confirmed, having wrapped filming and now moved to postproduction. Series 23 began filming in March of 2022 and wrapped in July of 2022; Series 24 began in March of 2023 and wrapped in July of 2023. Midsomer Murders has usually been an end-of-the-year event, and the last episode of Series 24

At the end of “Midsomer Murders” Series 24, one specific character was written off that could drastically change the dynamic of the show. Series 25 and beyond has not yet been confirmed by Acorn TV, but there is still plenty of time for confirmation.

"Midsomer Murders" is a British detective drama series that premiered in 1997, based on Caroline Graham's "Chief Inspector Barnaby" book series. Set in the fictional county of Midsomer, the show follows Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby and later his cousin, Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby, as they investigate murders in seemingly tranquil rural communities. Each episode unveils complex motives and multiple suspects, revealing dark secrets beneath the picturesque facade of Midsomer's villages.

”Midsomer Murders” has a 7.9 star review across more than 38,000 reviews on its IMDB.

I've watched this show since it's inception in 1997 and have enjoyed every single episode. I started watching on PBS and now I get to watch 23 seasons as many times as I want. Let's go for 24 and more. One doesn't watch a show for so many years without it being an amazing cinematic experience every time. I love this show. ❤

ITV will confirm that Midsomer Murders will end after 26 years on air: the final 2 episodes of Series 22 will air on ITV1 between Sunday 9 April 2023 and Sunday 16 April 2023: For Death Prepare and The Witches of Angel's Rise and the final 4 episodes of Series 23 will air on ITV1 between Sunday 23 April 2023 and Sunday 14 May 2023: The Blacktrees Prophecy, The Debt Of Lies, A Grain Of Truth, and the final ever episode: Dressed To Kill. The announcement comes as rival ITV crime drama Endeavour ceased operations after the conclusion of Series 9 Episode 3: Exeunt, which was televised on Sunday 12 March 2023 after 11 years, 36 episodes and 9 series. Once Midsomer Murders ends after the conclusion of Series 23 Episode 4: Dressed To Kill, there will be a total of 136 episodes.

Season 23 just had its 4th episode on AcornTV. Are you saying there will be 3 more seasons?

Who are you? Are you a member of the production staff? I looked up your name and I couldn't find anything that said you could post something about Midsomer Murders being cancelled. You ought not to say anything about any shows being cancelled unless you can back up your statements with a readily proof of what you are saying is true! Maybe you are just a troll!

On the contrary, series 24 of Midsomer Murders is already in production, as per a tweet from Fiona Dolman (Sarah Barnaby) at the end of March.

There is no season 26. Episode 4 of series 23 just aired on Acorn. There is only 4 episodes this season, so hopefully they film a series 24!!

Apparently there are two more episodes of Series 23, dates not announced yet.

I LOVE this series totally awesome I accidentally found it back in 2015 or 16 and haven’t been able to get enough love both the Barnaby’s heard they were going to bring back John Nettles for one of the new upcoming shows that would be so awesome!!! John Nettles was my favorite Barnaby and I miss him on the show but I have grown to love Neil Dudgeon too; they each brought and bring their character to life in such unique ways. I hope whoever has power over this show knows how much it is truly loved and hopefully doesn’t plan on ending it too so [smile] on!! They might have a riot on their hands LOL 😆 all kidding aside it’s too good of a show to end too soon so Please keep them coming!!!

My mother got me into watching Midsomer Murders and we both love it ♥️. I have specifically subscribed to Britbox and Acorn in order to continue being able to watch it. I loved John Nettles and Neil dudgeon. I have to say I really miss Jason Hughes as Ben Jones he is my favourite Barnaby sidekick. We enjoy many of the UK shows because there is no profanity or nudity every 5 minutes like in American TV shows.

I love this series. I have gone through the 19 seasons so far and am looking forward to Season 20. I will go back to the beginning until then, because the plots are so complex, I will never remember who did the murders. Also, I love the settings and finding them online. I am from Dallas, but lived for 6 years in Oxford. The scenery is great. Of course, England has some pretty ugly cities. Still, this is escapism.
