Series info and plot

Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life is a new American sitcom television series. It was made available online on December 21, 2015, prior to its TV debut on January 3, 2016. At this point the first season is set to contain thirteen half-hour episodes. The sitcom is created by Jay Lacopo, produced by The Jackal Group in conjunction with 20th Century Television and executive produced by Gail Berman, Bill Callahan, Jay Lacopo and James Griffiths.

Cooper Garrett (Jack Cutmore-Scott) and his roommate pals Barry (James Earl) and Neal (Charlie Saxton) are basically stereotypical clueless millennials going about their stereotypical clueless millennial business – partying and trying to figure out their love lives and work prospects. Kelly Bishop (Meaghan Rath) is the guys' neighbor and Cooper's romantic interest.

Current season and chances of renewal

The series premiered to a mere 2.62 million viewers. Its premiere episode has already been criticized for its bland characters and for the lack of substance in the storyline so far. The reviews have also been uninspiring – 51 out of a 100, indicating mixed or average reviews on Metacritic and 5.9 on IMDb. There's always a chance that the show will unfold in an unexpectedly amazing manner, but how big is that chance? However, some viewers do find the show entertaining, and some of the critics find the jokes fresh and the characters likable. So there is, as always, an audience for any type of humor. If it turns out that this audience is large enough, Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life will have a chance on the small screen.

Latest news

UPDATED May 14, 2016: The Fox network has not been very lucky this year with new additions to its scripted comedy programming: four of the newly released Tuesday night comedies, including The Grinder starring Rob Lowe, have just been axed. The new sitcom Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life has also been officially cancelled after just one season. Originally, the series was set to air 13 episodes, but the network stopped broadcasting new episodes since episode 10 was aired on April 17th, essentially becoming a series finale. It is extremely unlikely that the sitcom will get revived.

Cooper barrett is actually likeable. In my opinion they should have done another season of it with more ads. I have just discovered this series and love it. It's been a while since there has been a show that I thought to myself, " when's the next season start?" Now I realize that FOX is being a bunch of idiots and decide to cancel a show that was enjoyable, relatable, and not the same as every other show out there now. Dang you FOX!
