About the show
Hillbilly Blood is a reality TV show that follows the fascinating characters and deep-rooted traditions of Appalachian life. The documentary is filmed in the backwoods of Cold Mountain, N.C. and has been airing for five seasons on Destination America since it’s premiere in September 18, 2012. Season five returned on May 2, 2015 for a ten episode run.
Eugene Runkis and his mountain brother Spencer “Two-Dog” Bolejack unlock the secrets to survival, peeling back the cover to reveal a lifestyle that’s steeped in tradition and ancestral pride. A sort of Hillbilly MacGyver guide to survival, living off of the natural resources that the land and mountains offer. Joined by their friendly neighbor Cowboy, who’s got celeb status from his role in “Deliverance”, the three showcase their wilderness experience and often unsolicited, but valued opinions.
