Basic info and show concept

Married by Mom and Dad is a American reality series that premiered on TLC on December 13, 2015. It's produced by Thinkfactory Media and executive produced by Adam Reed, Aaron Fishman, Amy Doyle, Adam Freeman, Leslie Greif and Tim Laurie.

Yes, there's a reality show about practically every aspect of modern life. But I guess we're running out of things to display on television, and just when you thought the institute of arranged marriage is well behind us, it's actually back and right here on screen. The men and women – two men and two women in this case – who participate in this social experiment have been unlucky in love and as a last resort decided to put the choice of their prospective marriage candidates in their parents' hands. Once the parents think that they've found the perfect match, worthy of their beloved children, the couple unites in marriage. How will that work out? Well, that's what the audience is set to find out during the course of the series.

Ratings and chances of renewal

This season the audience is introduced to a new set of singles, namely, Devin, a 26-year-old ex-NFL player; Tahnee, 30, who's had it with dating; Bethany, a 24-year-old teacher and Marissa, 27, whose expectations for her future husband are very high. Will it work better when the parents step in to make crucial decisions for them?

Well, for an idea that's been alien to Western culture for quite some time, the concept of Married by Mom and Dad found a serious fan following. The second season premiere drew 0.837 million viewers and a 0.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic. With numbers like these can we pretty much assume that modern men and women are just tired of making choices of all kinds, including one of the most important choices – their life partner. That being clear, the show has a 5.3/10 IMDb score, denoting mixed reception, and it still remains to be seen whether mom and dad really do know best. Stay tuned and find out what the future holds for the four singles in the current season and for the program itself.

Would love to know how each of these couples work out...as a parent I am so impressed by the love and trust these young adults have for their parents, my youngest daughter just got married and all she wanted from my husband and I was the $, because we didn't have the $ to throw her the $40,000 wedding she wanted and had them pay for the venue and we paid for everything else (his family said sorry we don't have the money either) but our child wouldnt let us help with anything but give me the $ ..my husband is on disability and I was
working part-time at $10 hr...but 3 wks after the wedding was over, she quit talking to us ....broke our hearts because we gave her everything she could ever want growing up including lots of love we thought...
But its been over 6 months and we figured she would get over everything but hasn't and we cant keep putting up with the disrespect and threating us with not talking to us everytime she gets mad,so here we sit heartbroken...

Hello! I've read your comment and it breaks my heart to know you've been through this. Though what I wanted to say is don't give up ! Children can be fooled in many ways of the heart! Keep sending cards for birthdays , christmas etc they'll always come back and be very very sorry! I've seen this happen a lot and I really do hope that you and your husband can move on. Karma will strike back eventually ;) and you guys aren't the blame I think you are great parents to give your daughter the wedding she wanted! Most parents would've said she could go work for it themselves ;)

Please don't give up hope!
