Odd Mom Out Season 4 Officially Cancelled

UPDATED October 6, 2017: Less than a month after the most recent installment of the Bravo’s scripted comedy series finished airing this September, the network has announced its decision to cancel Odd Mom Out after Season 4 – there will be no Season 4 for the show. Jill Kargman, the creator and star of the comedy show, has confirmed the sad news on her personal Twitter account and expressed her gratitude to fans and colleagues.

The very first episode of Odd Mom Out season 1 premiered to an audience of 0.86 Million viewers, scoring a demo rating of 0.39 in the 18-49 demographic and thereafter ended up with an episode average of 0.66 Million at a demo rating of 0.30. Season 2 kicked off with the same viewership of 0.66 Million, but a demo rating of a lower 0.23, which averaged itself out to 0.64 Million viewers and a demo rating of 0.22 in the 18-49 demographic. The current season 3 premiered to 0.57 Million viewers and a demo rating of 0.21 and at the moment averages around 0.57 Million viewers at a demo rating of 0.20. Looking at these numbers, the decline over three seasons really is a normal development, but in the case of Odd Mom Out, these differences in numbers aren’t exactly drastic to warrant for a cancellation of the series. If anything, Bravo might renew the series for a fourth installment, because the figures have NOT changed that much compared to the previous season. One pretty big factor is also the strong overall approval by the viewers, who rate the show at a strong 6.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb, 7.3 out of 10 stars on TV.com and 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Summary and storyline

Based on Jill Kargman’s Momzillas, Odd Mom Out is an American comedy TV series that focuses on the lives of very wealthy and obnoxious mothers in Manhattan. Starring Jill Kargman herself, the ten-episode freshman season of Odd Mom Out season 1 debuted on Bravo on June 8th, 2015 and season 2 followed on June 20th, 2016. The current third season premiered on July 12th, 2017 with another set of ten brand new episodes.

Jill Weber, who is a fictional version of Jill Kargman, is part of Manhattan’s Upper East Side elite clique of affluent women, which includes her mother-in-law, Candace, and her brother-in-law’s wife, Brooke. Although she’s a born-and-bred Manhattanite herself, she’s still nowhere close to her new blue-blooded family and their friends. Trying to keep the unconventional life style she had before she married her husband Andy, Jill is treated like a charity case by her new relatives and friends. Navigating raising her three children, keeping her marriage fresh and satisfying all of the odd responsibilities that come with being part of an ultra-rich clique, Jill tries to survive in this highly competitive environment.
