Major Crimes has run for overall six seasons, which is definitely a great achievement for any television series. The crime drama originally premiered to an audience of a whopping 7.18 Million viewers and has since lost a few along the way, but season 6 still managed to attract 1.75 Million live viewers, which is certainly nothing to sneeze at, even though these figures are the lowest since the beginning of the show. And these numbers are still likely to change anyway, as additional viewers, who catch up on online streaming services will be added to that initial viewership. As for overall approval ratings, Major Crimes currently boasts a strong 7.6 out of 10 stars on IMDb and receives a decent 6.6 out of 10 stars on TV.com. The show could have gone on for a little while longer, but as more of the original TNT line-up is disappearing, Major Crimes is just one of a few left, which have to come to an end.
About the series
Created by James Duff, Major Crimes is an American crime drama television series that follows the life of a Captain in the Los Angeles Police Department played by Mary McDonnell. The series is a spinoff and continuation of another TNT drama, The Closer, which was cancelled in 2012 after seven seasons. Major Crime hails from the production companies The Shephard/Robin Company, Walking Entropy and Warner Bros. Television and is executive produced by the show’s creator James Duff as well as Michael M. Robin, Greer Shephard, Adam Belanoff and Mike Berchem, to name just a few. The show originally premiered back in August 2013 for its first season and has since been renewed for overall six installments, with the latest season 6 kicking off on October 31st, 2017 with brand new episodes. Just prior to its release, TNT confirmed that the sixth will also be the last and final season of the series.
Captain Sharon Raydor has been selected to become the new head of the Major Crimes Division of the LAPD. Facing the challenges of gaining trust and confidence of her detectives, she attempts to keep a close watch on her subordinates and build airtight cases that will not have a chance to get thrown out of court.

son-one-ratings/Are you a fan of Major Crimes? If the cancelled TNT show was picked up by another channel, would you watch a seventh season?
As we reported earlier, TNT has cancelled the crime drama after six seasons. The series follows the further investigations of the detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes division. Stars include Mary McDonnell, Tony Denison, GW Bailey, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Robert Gossett, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, and Jonathan Del Arco.
In a recent Facebook post, creator James Duff says he hopes Major Crimes will be picked up by either another network like CBS or a streaming service like Hulu. However, Warner Brothers TV Studio owns the former TNT series and it’s unlikely another distributor will acquire a show they don’t own outright:
brilliantly together like two comedians. Please don't
take it off or the actors.
