The Westbrooks is a new American reality television series that premiered on October 14, 2015 on the BET network. It follows the lives of five sisters, virtual stars of social media networks who boast a combined online following of 2 000 000 people.

The “social likes to socialites” series' slogan describes the situation rather well. The web-celeb sisters are converting their virtual popularity to real-life dividends – material and other. Their relationship between the sisters, their children and parents, romantic liaisons, business ventures, ideas and their realizations, studying and modeling – all of these and any other aspects are now documented in The Westbrooks show, not only the endless pictures on Instagram. India Love is the propeller of the family fame, the youngest of the five, Crystal is the self-described “hippie”, Morgan is the tattooed owner of a tanning salon, and Bree and Brooke are advocates for the plus-size fashion industry.

The chronicle of the Westbrook sisters' lives has received mixed response from the viewers. Some enjoy real people's real-life rise to fame and watch on with curiosity, some dislike the young women's portrayal on the screen (according to some rumors their own father is in this category), some reproach the creators of the show for setting improper goals for youth. Will the series spike enough viewer interest to raise its ratings to a level where BET will renew the show? There are certainly enough internet fans to consider this possibility a realistic one.

I dig the show. All the sisters had their own set of issues, and were very relatable. We as Women of Color need to be more supportive of each other, and not be malicious towards the Westbrooks because of their mixed race. We gotta do better Ladies! I would Love to see them back.

All I'm going to say is it was a good show and they do each have their own talent. I knew this show would get hate from jump, because first off they are all light skinned females and they are all gorgeous. There are sooo many hating females out there it is crazy. They probably mad they don't look half as good as they do. I really hope they bring this show back. They are not just pretty faces but they do have talent and things going on they do. The people saying hateful things are probably the same people who watch love and hip hop...Rob and Chyna and listen to Niki Minaj lol as if those shows are any better. Get a life people.

I think BET is known for representing us well with shows with substance. I don't think this show brought any substance. The reason India and some of her sisters are so popular is because she was willing to be half naked on social media. If any of us did the same..it would boost up our followers. Anyone willing to look seductive and be half naked can have the same popularity. However, what message are we sending??? We saw the same with the Kardashians..at least one in the family who did this. We get tired of this after a while. I say ladies present yourself in a more positive light. We as women..should not feel this is the only way to be noticed by being half naked. We were given a brain, a gift..we got so many successful women in the world that built their success in other ways..not having to be half naked to get noticed. This shows low self esteem or something missing in your life.

I watched most of an episode and all I can say is the show is garbage. They may be attractive people but I don't see the talent. They could be successful but my previous statement holds true and there are other examples of unoriginal, talent-less success stories. I am confident this show will not be brought back for a second season but you never know.

I think the only reason people don't want this show to come back on is bc they a bunch of haters with nothing else to do with their lives. You sit and talk [censored] about people who became famous but if you sit back and think if they weren't meant to be famous God would've never allowed it to happen. Instead of talking [censored] about people you don't know you should judge yourself and work on yourself not worry about what other people are doing. I like the show bc it actually gives you a look inside real people's lives. You talk about she has a bad attitude she's human just like everyone on this earth she's obligated to have feelings just bc she's pretty doesn't mean she's not human. Stop judging people and hating on people bc it makes you look pathetic af. Don't be mad bc you don't make as much money as she does. The people that dont want the show back are just ugly haters. The show is no different then the Kardashians n they have a ridiculous amount of seasons. so I feel the westbrooks deserve that chance too. Right along with all the other " trash " TV that's out there. I love the westbrooks family and I wouldn't t miss a episode. ... BRING IT BACK.
