Hollywood Divas is an American reality TV series that follows the lives of five African-American actresses, who have to deal with the dark side of Tinseltown, tabloids and fame. Produced by Vivian Payton, the series first aired on October 8, 2014 and had a successful 2-season run. The current third season was launched on July 6, 2016.
Most people dream of becoming celebrities. They imagine what they would do in the spotlight, the homes they would buy, the cars they would drive, and the people they would date. One thing that they don’t think about is being blackballed over personal life choices, relationships, and poor photographs that make it out into the public. Hollywood Divas shows the lives of Golden Brooks, Paula Jai Parker, Countess Vaughn, Lisa Wu and Elise Neal who try and reignite their careers through various means, from losing weight to starring in off-Broadway plays, and making their own short film, The White Sistas. The series opens another window on what it’s like for a regular person to be an actress in Tinseltown.
