Storyline and cast
Minority Report is a new American science-fiction and crime TV drama that is a spin-off the hit Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg 2002 movie by the same name. Developed by Max Borenstein and produced by Ambling Television, Paramount Television, and 20th Century Fox Television, the show is the first Spielberg-directed movie to be adapted for TV. Minority Report season 1 debuted on FOX on September 21, 2015.
Set in the year 2065, Minority Report follows Dash — a PreCog, who has the ability to predict crimes. The series picks up ten years after the end of Precrime unit in Washington DC with one of the PreCogs trying to lead a normal life while still suffering from visions of the future. Despite an impressive series premiere, which drew in nearly 3 million viewers, audiences began tuning out just as quickly. Steadily declining ratings from critics and audiences didn’t help matters and Fox decided to cut the series by three episodes, making season one episode 10 a potential series finale.
Unless the show’s performance manages to dramatically improve, the network may choose to drop the show altogether. That said, the season finale promises to be satisfying to those who choose to stick it out until the end. FOX has made no official statements regarding the fate of the show, but we’re inclined to say that viewers will likely not see Minority Report season 2.

UPDATED May 15, 2016: Not even a very recognizable title was able to save Minority Report from getting axed. The Fox network, which has recently wiped out all of its freshman comedy series, has also officially cancelled the crime and sci-fi drama after just one run. The show failed to deliver a sizeable audience, having averaged just a little over 2 million viewers per episode. On a brighter note, one of the show’s stars, Meagan Good is going to join the cast of the CBS’s new medical drama Code Black, which we hear is going to get renewed any day now.
