Joe Wright, the acclaimed director of Golden Globe and multi-BAFTA-winning films such as "Pride and Prejudice," "The Darkest Hour," and "Atonement," is set to direct and serve as an executive producer for the upcoming drama series, THE DEPARTMENT.
This espionage political thriller, based on the highly praised French drama "Le Bureau des Legendes," is a collaborative production by Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan can anticipate the debut of THE DEPARTMENT later this year.
The series will feature the creative talents of Tony Award-winning writer Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, known for their work on "Ford v Ferrari" and "Edge of Tomorrow." They will both executive produce and pen all ten episodes. George Clooney and Grant Heslov, through their Smokehouse Pictures, will join forces with David C. Glasser and 101 Studios in executive producing the series.
