Prime Video has officially greenlit The Runarounds for a series, as announced today. Produced by Skydance Television and conceived by Jonas Pate (known for Outer Banks and Aquarius), with a teleplay by David Wilcox (credited for 666 Park Avenue and Fringe), The Runarounds is a fictional YA drama inspired by the actual band of the same name. The upcoming eight-episode series is set to debut on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories globally.
Featuring the real-life band members - William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher - alongside Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira, the fictional series unfolds the story of a close-knit group of young adults hailing from diverse backgrounds. They come together to establish a rock band in the summer following their high school graduation. Set against the backdrop of Wilmington, North Carolina, The Runarounds will navigate the group's choices between yielding to the pressures of reality and risking everything to become the greatest band of all time.
