Hulu has officially ordered the half-hour comedy series "Chad Powers," co-created and executive produced by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron. The executive producers include Eli Manning, Peyton Manning of Omaha Productions, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and ESPN. Anomaly Pictures' Waldron and Adam Fasullo are also producing. Powell, who co-created and co-wrote the series, is set to star and executive produce under his production company, Barnstorm Productions. The series is produced by 20th Television.
The storyline follows the journey of Russ Holliday, a talented quarterback whose college career is derailed by bad behavior. He adopts a disguise and joins a struggling Southern football team as the likable Chad Powers. Adapted from the sketch featured on ESPN+ as part of the Eli's Places series, this half-hour comedy will be available for streaming on Hulu. Powell and Waldron collaborated on writing the pilot.
