FOX's new medical drama, "Doc," draws inspiration from the highly acclaimed Italian series, "Doc -- Nelle tue mani," created and produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle Company. The series features talented actresses Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannò from "The White Lotus." "Doc" revolves around the brilliant and ambitious Dr. Amy Elias, the Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. However, her life takes a drastic turn when a brain injury wipes away the memories of the past eight years.
Amy must navigate a world where she no longer remembers her patients, colleagues, past relationships, or the tragedy that led her to shut everyone out. With only her estranged 17-year-old daughter and a few loyal friends by her side, Amy strives to continue practicing medicine, despite the loss of a decade's worth of knowledge and experience. Co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, the series is led by Showrunner and Executive Producer Barbie Kligman.Additional Executive Producers include Hank Steinberg from Channel Road Productions and Erwin Stoff from 3 Arts Entertainment. The original Italian version, created by Francesco Arlanch and Viola Rispoli, premiered on Rai 1 in 2020, quickly becoming the network's most successful series premiere since 2007. It has since been adapted in 12 countries, with seven versions already produced.
