Amazon's Prime Video has decided to cancel "The Peripheral," as reported by Variety.
This decision arrives despite Amazon's earlier renewal of the show for a second season in February. The series, adapted from William Gibson's novel of the same name, premiered on Amazon on October 21, 2022.
Starring Chloë Grace Moretz and created by executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan as part of their extensive agreement with Amazon, the cancellation of the second season was largely influenced by the ongoing strikes involving writers and actors. Essentially, even if production were to resume soon, Season 2 would not likely be available until sometime in 2025.
