ABC has decided to cancel Alaska Daily, a drama series featuring Hilary Swank in the lead role, after just one season. The show failed to establish itself and attract a substantial audience, making the cancellation unsurprising.

This is so disappointing! And look at the [censored]py shows they are keeping! Everything is Feds and cops and similar [censored]. Alaska Daily is a wonderful show tastefully exploring the problem of Indigenous people especially woman being exploited and murdered which is a big problem in this country! Giving voice to a serious social problem was one of the things I admired about this show and the call for change at the end by the stars was meaningful! Maybe ABC doesn't have a social conscious when it comes to issues that really should be brought to light and instead prefers to lean on the old cliche boring feds, police and garbage. Shame on them. I wish the viewing public would take a stand and boycott the junk in favor of quality but I guess that will never happen. But, I know I will. I very much support MMIW and indigenous people. They are the true Americans and we at least owe them some respect - they sure aren't getting from the Fed, cops and other entities!

This was probably one of the best shows I have ever watched. Well written and a great cast! It touched on serious issues and also provided a bit of brevity as well. As soon as an episode was over, I could not wait for the next one. I cannot believe this was cancelled. Shocking. So very disappointing.

I was really floored when a friend recently told me that Alaska Daily had been cancelled! I simply couldn’t believe it…every time a GREAT show comes along, the major networks cancel it without giving it the opportunity to grow its audience! My hope is that SOMEONE (streaming service, CW, etc.) will pick it up.

I really liked Alaska Daily. Of course I’m not surprised that a well written show is cancelled. The networks would rather have trash that requires no thought-stupid reality shows with fake drama😡

It is amazing that there is finally a series that dealt with a very important subject, MMIW, and it gets cancelled. I assume that it was actually due to American politics and not viewership. Native Americans have dealt with this subject for at least 250 + years, and of course the subject gets shut down.
The acting was exceedingly good, I was really impressed with Hillary Swank and her honest demeanor and the rest of the cast was equally as good as her. It is a huge Shame on You to ABC for cancellation of this.
Maybe it caused to many people to actually think about the main issue.

Probably the best quality TV show I have EVER watched. Gripping, relevant, intelligent and meaningful. It is hard for me to believe that this was cancelled due to lack of viewers. It raised awareness on the hearbreaking issue of missing indigenous women. Even if one life was saved it is worth airing. Very sad.

We finally had a show that was uncovering the truth
About #MMIW. A great cast of actors and wonderful writing. Come on Netflix. Amazon. So body pick this up so more truth can have the light shine upon this.

Just finished watching this on Disney+ in the UK. Checked to see when Series 2 is out and found this article, reporting it has been cancelled. Brilliant show and disappointed to read this - deserves so much more.

So we finally have a good show with a great cast that covers true problems in Alaska and it’s canceled. There are more truths to be told. I know because I once lived there. New shows are never given a chance.

Have you lost your minds? This storyline needs to be told . It's the best show on abc. I can't believe it didn't get an Emmy. Get your stuff together ABC this why people stream and your ratings are so low.

This show had a great cast and writers. ABC should be ashamed for canceling it. I truly hope another outlet picks it up.
I could see several seasons with many story lines such as environment, the fishing industries, the pipeline, and of course corruption in politics not to mention the battle between the 2 newspapers.

I'm with you Trish, ABC bit the big one on cancelling this one. Netflix, Amazon, or any other outlet could score a big win by picking up this series. I could easily see 5-10 seasons with so many topics. So many people in the lower 48 have no idea of most anything Alaska.

PLEASE renew this great show. So good, I watched all the episodes twice. It's hard to find network TV shows which do such a wonderful job. Great script and particularly relevant. I'm surprised to hear that there is even a question regarding its renewal.

I just watched this show and loved it! The acting is great, the writing is superb. Please please tell us there will be a season 2. This show covered some serious, realistic topics and kept me glued to every episode.
